Who is Su' Anscombe?

I am a mother of three wonderful sons, sadly my eldest passed away in 2000, but he taught me a lot in life, and I still have a charming 19 year old and a lively 16 year old, who are both a great support to me. I have always loved art and admired those able to create jewellery but never imagined I would get the chance to join them.

I dipped my toe into the world of craft design with card marking, progressing to decorating candles and sweetie bouquets, and then, almost as a test project, I created some tiaras. That was it, I loved every moment of working with the wire and crystals and knew that I had to make the leap to jewellery.

I enrolled in a local evening class, but due to personal circumstances had to leave in my second term, so I turned to books, u-tube and friends from a jewellery forum, to learn new techniques. I am still learning as every jeweller is, and have many things I still want to try my hand at.

I have become a bit of a tool freak (a common condition for jewellers) and get very excited about all my "toys". Very sad I know lol.

I am privileged to live in the beautiful Sussex countryside, and I am sure it inspires me through its peace and tranquility, I believe it is this that brings the curves to my work, as when I close my eyes and listen to the peace, everything just flows in waves.

So a little insight into my world, I would love to work on my jewellery full-time, but like many others, I have to go out to work to pay the bills and support my passion, maybe one day.........
